Fiona Turnbull provides some background on Michael Robson and his unfinished history of the Border Turnbull families that he worked on for over 30 years. She then presents part of the chapter on the Turnbulls of Barnhills, notorious for reiving in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The Twelve Towers of Rule – presented by Campaign for a Scottish Borders National Park

Relives the catastrophic events of September 1545 when the Earl of Hertford led and English army of 16000 to devastate Tweeddale and Teviotdale. This failed to crush the spirit of the valiant communities whose descendants gradually rebuilt their homes and still live in these valleys today.
